Applications are invited from suitably qualified professionals for the position of Human Resource Assistant, Talent Management Department, Human Resources Division. Reporting to the Head, Talent Management, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Implementing and executing appropriate systems for monitoring, tracking and reporting on Departmental Service Level Standards and Operational Plans and objectives.
  2. Conducting research and analysis on best practice approaches on various Talent Management issues.
  3. Assisting with coordinating relevant actions arising from decisions made by the Senior/Executive Management and  or other matters affecting the work of the Department.
  4. Providing responses to enquiries and ensuring that all information provided is researched, correct, factual, timely, customer-focused and in accordance with relevant guidelines and standards.
  5. Managing the Department’s records by ensuring efficiency in storage  and retrieval in keeping with Records Management Guidelines.
  6. Assisting with the coordination of the operational activities and keeping the Head abreast of the status of delegated action items and taking the steps required to ensure their timely completion and delivery.
  7. Assisting in the administration of the performance management system and compilation and analysis of developmental plans on the annual Performance Appraisals to include;
    • Monitoring/Updating employee profiles on EPIC
    • Preparing salary adjustment listing to ASD for incremental payments resulting from annual Performance appraisals
    • Providing support to appraiser and appraisee regarding EPIC
    • Preparing summary reports for management on compliance and delinquency for annual appraisals
    • Preparing Increment letters to staff outlining current salary resulting from PA salary changes
    • Preparing submissions for triple approval by Governor
    • Preparing congratulatory letters for approved triple awardees
  8. Assisting with the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, including standards of performance and performance evaluation instruments.
  9. Consulting with HR Business Partners bank-wide to troubleshoot and efficiently and effectively manage queries concerning performance management tools, performance monitoring and measurement.
  10. Preparing presentations and sensitization material as is required.
  11. Liaising with the HCM manager to collect and coordinate aggregate data for talent pool.
  12. Coordinating the preparation of quarterly Divisional Updates on all aspects of Talent Management for dispatch to divisional management Bank wide.
  13. Serving as recording secretary for all Team meetings and responsible for the timely preparation of minutes and action items emanating from Team meetings.
  14. Assisting with the implementation of talent review processes required to achieve business goals and results in the creation of an internal bench of top talent.
  15. Assisting with in the development of PM training programs that focus on enabling the workforce to achieve improvements with priority organizational concerns.
  16. Serving as a liaison officer for the department and effectively manage communication in the Head of Talent Management’s office.
  17. Assisting with the maintenance of a coordinating framework for strategic, operational and individual performance objectives to ensure alignment.
  18. Attending internal and external meetings with the Head of Department, taking notes and performing related follow-up actions as required.
  19. Processing and responding to requests for appointments and meetings and updating the calendar of events and schedules.
  20. Receiving and processing correspondence, internal service requests, queries and complaints, providing first level response where possible and referring others for the attention of the appropriate functionary where necessary.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, Finance or Business Administration with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • HR Certification would be an asset.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

The incumbent should have:

  • Strong statistical skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and evaluation skills
  • Excellent writing, communication and analytical skills, with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner. 
  • Must be self-starting, willing, and able to work independently under pressure of tight deadlines and aggressive expectations. 
  • Must also be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Exposure to relevant computer software systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB

The incumbent will be:

  • The job is carried out in a modern office environment.
  • The job exposes the incumbent to inflexible project timelines which necessitates working outside of normal hours.
  • The incumbent is required to work under pressure on multiple priorities to meet deadlines, sometimes simultaneously.
  • Long periods of concentration on analyzing computer-based and other paper-based information.
